The Confluences Museum in Lyon, delayed in its construction many times and for various reasons, should finally open its doors in February 2014.
The project has taken the lead, and according to comments reported by The Progress of Vice President of the Cultural Department, "The delivery is scheduled for April 2013. It will then take eight to nine months to install the museum, which leads to an opening in February 2014. "
In order to accomplish its mission, the department has created a Department of Museums, which will be headed by Helene Laffont-Couturier. Each institution under this authority was given a director and for the Confluence Museum the choice has gone to Bruno Jacome. These changes prepare to the next opening of the museum, which, this time, seems in good voice.
The official website of the museum announced that the building will cover 22,000 m2, of which 6500 will be devoted to exhibitions. At cruising speed, the institution will offer nine simultaneous exhibitions, including three permanent and six temporary ones. The museum will also include four discoveries spaces and two auditoriums. The ensemble should focus around the theme of science and society.
