China: Chinese Contemporary Artists to put on a charity sale for Japan's children

A charity sale to raise money for children who suffered for the damages caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, took place in Beijing 798 Art District last week. A community of leading Chinese artists joined together with others from Japan and Korea and decided to put on a sale under the banner “Love and Hope". Supposed to donate their works of art to the special sale event, they turned out to be the first buyers. Artist Huang Rui, RongRong and Inri were the three minds behind the sale that will continue through May 14 at the Iberia Center for Contemporary Art.
The auction presented a work by Li Songsong portraying a black silhouette of the disappeared colleague Ai Weiwei with a gloomy subtitle “I miss you”.
