Art Bengaluru 2011, unveiled June 17th and running until June 25th, is a week-long festival to indulge on visual treats. It brings together artists, galleries, art collectors and art lovers in the heart of Bangalore, India.

Revealed at The Collection, UB City, in association with Sublime Galleria and Art Chutney, its opening has been much anticipated as the second edition and South India’s only contemporary art festival. As a unique and exclusive event Art Bengaluru showcases diverse forms of art such as paintings, illustration, photography, sculpture, installations and product design.

This is an annual forum that aspires to unite the contemporary art community at large as well put Bangalore on the map of the international art world. The event features an art exhibition and a series of events including a children’s art contest, an art workshop, speaker sessions, film screening and culminating with an art auction.

This year Art Bengaluru has adopted QR technology to help network with a wider section of art enthusiasts by providing easy access to informative resources like never before. Visitors with smartphones equipped with a QR reader will be able to scan the artwork and be taken directly to the website, shown a video or supplied the detailed information.

Flushed with success of last year's first edition, Art Bengaluru seems to have evolved to be even bigger and better, displaying artists and galleries from across India. The only contemporary art festival in South India, the draw is strong and reveals the ever more apparent shift of contemporary art to the east.
