At a time when the art world is becoming overloaded with art fairs, one is drawing particular attention: (e)merge in Washington D.C. Is Americaís capital more than just politics?
It seems that in recent years there has been considerably growth as new relationships have been forged with the business community of the city. As the most economically powerful city in the country, the region's art scene is at a crucial moment.
The 22nd to the 25th of September will see the debut of (e)merge at the Capitol Skyline Hotel. The fair will feature international galleries and nonprofits in hotel rooms and moreover provide free exhibition space to budding artists.
Directly stimulating the capitalís artistic evolution, (e)merge is coaxing forward an environment for emerging art. The event is seeing enthusiastic support from D.C.'s museums, galleries, collectors and nonprofit spaces.
